The Wappwolf Automator: New Name. Intelligent Actions. Easy Collaboration.by Johnny TheDoc on 30/03/2012
Dropbox Automator is now The Wappwolf Automator. We will be working with more partners due to overwhelming user response to the Automator!
Wappwolf Automator is a service developed by Wappwolf that makes use of an API to connect to other web services. At present we support Dropbox for drag & drop file processing, soon we will support other favorite web-services. In the coming months you will see us add more folks to our platform.
We have left all the other things that you love so much unchanged, but added some nice features that provide more comfort.
What if you could include an email in your automations that provides a direct link to the files? Or, tells you the file size?
Our users love dropping a file into a Dropbox folder and have it processed. That is precisely what we designed Wappwolf Automator for. But there was one flaw: once you create an automation, you tend to forget about it. Worst, you might not remember where it is putting your files.
We found a simple solution for that which makes actions intelligent: you can now include the download link, name, description, file size, etc. in text fields of actions.
- Receive a notification by email with the link to the file each time a file is added to your Dropbox or a photo is uploaded to Facebook.
- Send a tweet and / or share the link to an album on Flickr whenever you upload a photo to Flickr.
- Rename a file and get a notification with name, file size and link.
Or perhaps you want to have someone else notified. No more searching for files, photos or albums on different platforms.
Note that you can now also create a new folder in your Dropbox directly in Wappwolf Automator. See here how this is done.
Some other brand new actions that we have for you are:
- Remove all EXIF data in photos,
- Delete original file,
- Upload files to Windows SkyDrive,
- Resize photos with exact specification of pixels.
What if that is not enough? Have a go and try our most favourite actions: send a file to your Amazon Kindle; upload files to ftp to update your website; automate your Android Dropbox photo uploads with Wappwolf; use attachments.me to create rules and process your email attachments from GMail with Wappwolf; and use the QuickShot App for iOS to process your iPad photos with Wappwolf. And many more – visit Wappwolf Automator and give it a try!
Thanks for all your support and feedback so far, and keep on spreading the word!
